Bogota’s DJ La Femme will be performing at 3pm on the Jardin stage.
The continued progress of the electronic music scene in Bogota will be on show at Baum Festival. María Alejandra Jaramillo speaks to some of those involved
Baum, one of Bogota’s biggest electronic music venues, joins forces with T310 concerts and Absent Papa events to put on an exclusive and extended night of underground music at the first Baum Festival on May 30.
International DJs including Danny Tenaglia, Scuba and Dubfire will come to the capital, as well as famed German duo Robosonic, who are visiting Bogota for the second time.
Speaking to The Bogota Post, Cord Labuhn reminisces about their last time here: “It was awesome, we played one of the best sets in a long time, as we got so much love back from the crowd. “
Robosonic has already played with some of the artists in the lineup, including Claptone, Third Culture and Ruede Hagelstein. “It’s going to be like a family gathering”, they tell us.
The festival will also be an opportunity for some of the top Colombian DJs to take centre stage, including Julio Victoria, Hernan Cayetano, La Femme and Fiona Beeson.
“I am surprised to see how the electronic scene has grown and developed in Bogota, which is now able to host such a massive event”, explains La Femme ahead of the festival. As for what she has in store, she tells us: “I’m just going to stick with my style. Bass and groove are to be expected”.
Baum Festival, which takes place at Bogota’s Multiparque (Autopista Norte #224-60), is expected to host a 6,000-strong crowd for this inaugural event, highlighting the growth and strength of electronic music in the capital.
Organiser Nicolás Martín explains: “Electronic music and the electronic scene in this city has evolved tremendously in the past five years. Bogota has matured into a multicultural city where the electronic scene has firmly settled.”
He continues optimistically: “Expect great music, great atmosphere and a night that you will probably remember the rest of your life”.
