Bogotá is set to receive these octogenarian rockers early in 2016.

For the first time in over a decade, the Rolling Stones are coming to Latin America. On March 10, 2016, the band will grace Colombia with a show at Bogotá’s Estadio El Campín.

It has been a long time since this seemingly immortal English rock band has ventured this far south, but as part of the America Latina Olé Tour they will visit seven countries and nine cities – Santiago, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Lima, Mexico City and Bogotá.

However, shortly after the agreement of a Latin American tour, there was a slight hiccup. A precarious contractual clause and speedy Twitter hands lead to controversy as the mayor of Bogotá, Gustavo Petro, tweeted on October 28 that the Rolling Stones were coming to Colombia next year. In doing so, he violated a confidentiality clause that stated that no announcement could be made regarding the concert until after the Rolling Stones officially announced it themselves.

After a few days of uncertainty, it was announced that they would in fact be performing in the capital for the tour’s penultimate stop.

It seems that Colombian Stones fans will finally get their satisfaction.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on November 21 at 10am. At the time of writing, prices were not yet confirmed.
