A Colombian Police strategic communications team specialized in digital media is preparing to interact 24 hours a day in real time with Colombian citizens traveling to Brazil.

With the aim of providing better support to Colombians in Brazil during the World Cup, the National Police have sent a group of officers with experience in crowd management and sporting events.

The Colombian Police will be present in different venues where they will delegate the matches of Group C and appropriately deal with the concerns of Colombian tourists.

“After the positive experience of the Under 20 World Cup in 2011, we received the honorary invitation from the Brazilian Federal Police, and will support the International Police cooperation centre at the World Cup,” said official sources.

Police sent seven officers to respond to problems and inform compatriots about the mobile consulates in the Ministry of Foreign Relations, police stations, hospitals, terminals and shopping centres.

The Colombian football team made a complaint to FIFA on June 15 about their treatment by Sao Paolo police.
